Who we are

Computer Forge Ltd (company number 10548757), 11 Albany House, 11 George Street West, Luton, LU1 2BJ. We act as the data controller for any personal data collected through this website. Any questions about how we handle your data can be sent to info@computerforge.co.uk.

What data we collect

We collect two kinds of information. First, anything you give us through the contact form — your name, email address, the content of your message, and optionally your company and phone number. Second, information your browser sends automatically when you visit: your IP address (used for bot protection via Cloudflare Turnstile and for server access logging), and anonymous page-view pings sent to Cloudflare Web Analytics. Web Analytics does not set cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not build a profile of you — it records aggregated, anonymous counts.

Why we process it

We rely on Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR — legitimate interests — for all processing on this website: responding to enquiries you send us, protecting the site from bots and abuse, and understanding aggregate visitor patterns so we can improve what we publish. The acknowledgment checkbox on the contact form confirms you have read this policy and our terms of service; it is an acknowledgment, not the lawful basis for processing. We keep a record of it alongside each enquiry.

Who we share it with

We use two categories of data processor:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (Turnstile bot protection and Web Analytics). Cloudflare is a US-based processor; data transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • Krystal Hosting Ltd (UK-based website and email hosting). Krystal receives data incidental to serving the site and delivering the contact form email.

We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertising networks, and we do not use it for marketing profiling.

How long we keep it

Contact enquiries are retained for up to 36 monthsfrom the date of submission, reviewed annually, and deleted unless they have resulted in an ongoing business relationship or we are required to retain them by law. Server access logs follow Krystal's own retention (typically 30–90 days). Web analytics data is aggregated and not linked to any individual.

Cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile and Cloudflare Web Analytics both operate without setting cookies or profiling visitors — that's the reason we chose them over the more common alternatives. The only data stored on your device is whatever your browser stores for HTTPS connections in general.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email info@computerforge.co.uk — we'll respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you believe we've mishandled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to resolve it with us directly first — a single email to info@computerforge.co.uk is all it takes.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, we'll flag an update in the site footer for at least 30 days so regular visitors have a chance to notice.
